Charles & Annemie were married at Tramonto on the 22nd of December 2010 on a rainy summer’s day. It was a beautiful affair & celebration of love. Below the Bride describes it in her own words.

Charles and I met in a chat room on the internet. After about 2 months of cyber chatting, sms’s and phone calls, he drove all the way from Somerset West to George to meet me. Our relationship started in December 2008. We had to drive 400 km if we wanted to see each other for a weekend or a holiday visit.
During 2009 our relationship grew and not even the distance or a car accident on the way to George could keep us apart. Charles learnt about my passion for functions and cooking while I learnt all the nitty-gritty about fishing, diving and “sea-activities”.
Having a long distance relationship was not forgiving on our phone bills, not even to talk about the price of petrol. But after a year of driving up and down, we became professionals.
On the 15th of December 2009 we went out to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. Went out for a gourmet dinner and Charles were “scouting” for places propose. First he took me to a lookout point in Somerset West, but due to the building of houses (which he didn’t check out before the night), the city lights were not to be seen…

In the end he took me down to the most beautiful beach near Somerset West, got on one knee and proposed. I, of course, cried like a baby! But the answer was YES!
We decided to get married exactly one year after the proposal, but due to my best friend not being able to attend our wedding on that date, we moved it to a date one week later.
A vineyard wedding has always been my dream and due to the lack of vineyards in George, I knew that Tramonto would be the perfect setting for a picturesque wedding. Still Charles hadn’t seen the venue…until June 2010.
The day we visited Tramonto together, it was a beautiful wintery day…and as we approached the Venue, he said that he had been there before! We had actually been to Tramonto on our first date!! I read about Tramonto in the paper, and wanted to see for myself what it looked like…he took me there. Fate I tell you…FATE!
We had the perfect day on 22 December 2010. The weather was amazing…sunshine, misty, then a light drizzle. Not even the downpour of rain later the evening could ruin our faultless day. We had so much fun. Definitely the best wedding we have been to!*
