Past Event:
SAICA YEAR END PICNIC

December 2011

SAICA hosted their annual Year End Celebration at Tramonto, and what an awesome event it was... we worked hard but watching the whole Venue transform = priceless. From personalized lemonade to ice cream carriers, they had a blast “braaiing” their own Prego roosterkoek rolls with chocolate chilli sauce to go with the personalized wine all wrapped up into picnic baskets in old wine crates! NLR Wines welcomed the guests with a wine and cheese tasting where after they were entertained by Crimson Band from Cape Town! Function Success!!

So you just got engaged and almost as soon as the ring is on your finger you get bitten by the wedding planning bug... which is a good thing of course, but Timing is Everything! Allowing enough time to plan a wedding is essential but starting too early can cause unnecessary double work, not to mention the risk of the groom taking a hike..! Here are a few things you should and shouldn’t plan more than a year in advance.

Get on it:

• Book your Venue. (Tramonto of course, we will even give you a nifty little black book that gives you a guided timeline!)
• Find and book a Professional Photographer to capture your dream event in the style that suites you best.
• Keep a diary and make mood boards of the things you like.
• Budget.
• Show off your ring!!

Get over it:

• Deciding on a definite theme (this will also influence your stationary) more than a year in advance? Not advisable. Your personal style changes with the different experiences you have during a year, trends change and new doors open! Don’t shut them before you have had a chance to make informed decisions.
• You grow as a couple, choosing delicate details like opening dance songs and compiling guest lists are a no-no, during your engagement year you certainly grow closer, revel in it before piling on the stress. Your list of friends is likely to expand and your experiences are sure to influence the little personal details.
• Prices Change! Buying that dream dress for thousands only to find it on sale three months later, you could’ve had more flowers at the reception! Not to mention losing or gaining a few ounces!
• Guaranteed: Your groom loves you for YOU, and before the proposal you likely talked about so many other things, don’t send him packing by sweating the small stuff!

Get it?

Basics: 8 - 4 months to go:
Flowers/Stationary/Invites/Décor/Theme/Wedding Bands/DJ/Entertainment

Less than 3:
Menu/Hair & Make up/Music/Alterations/Rentals/Gifts

Around the corner:
Final RSVP’s/Order of Events/Pick up your marriage license/ Give your DJ or Band a list of songs/Rehearsals

December 2011

A few weeks ago our beloved pot belly pig Beyoncé passed away, he was much loved and it was the end of an era. As an old era ends, a new one begins. We welcomed Popeye end Penelope to the family, brother and sister pot bellies, too cute for words.

Penelope, just as her movie star counterpart is a tough little cookie, a will of her own. Penelope decided the fields were greener on the strawberry side of life and somehow escaped the Tramonto grounds, leaving Popeye lonesome.

She was lost.

Of course there were tears and even though all the Tramonto staff tried to bring Penelope home, it was hopeless, until Hopo, Tramonto staff member, (his love and reputation of caring for animals exceeds him) made a plan! Popeye was dressed in harness and took a stroll with Hopo to the neighbouring farms and surrounds, after quite some time they had found her! As soon as Penelope saw her brother it was animal cuddles all the way back to the Tramonto stalls! Popeye led by Hopo and Penelope only to happy to follow them back home! Aaaaw…

Real Wedding: Cobus & Riandi 8 October 2011

All the way from OZ, the couple returned to South Africa to have their dream wedding in George. Organising a wedding all the way from Australia was no sweat for the relaxed bride and regular Skype chats and emails kept the ball on the roll!

December 2011

Soft peaches and greens were casually incorporated with the couple’s personal logo to create stationary to die for. Soft flowers and romantic draping set the mood for a glowing wedding reception. After an evening of great food and dancing the guests were greeted with mini fruitcakes in personalized boxes to extend the sweetness of the evening they had just shared. #HappyCouple!
